Cymofone A-2 Type

Because of the Great Kanto Earthquake the importance of communication was recognized in Japan.

In March, 1925 Tokyo Broadcasting System was established in Shibaura, and radio broadcasting started in Japan.
Tokyo Electric Company was licensed to sell the radio receiver, "Cymofone A-2 Type" in February of that year and put it on the market just before broadcasting launched.
In the middle of the year Shibaura Engineering Works also started to sell the radio receiver, "Junola 1A." Both of the receivers used the same vacuum tube, "Cymotron UV-199" manufactured by Tokyo Electric Company.
