World's First NAND Flash Memory
In 1987, our company developed NAND flash memory which allowed both a larger capacity than conventional, non-volatile memory and at the same time had a lower price.
By equipping the serial interface method, input and output (I/O) method compatible with HDDs, we made the NAND flash memory the most suitable semiconductor memory for file application and put it to practical use before everyone else.
This memory pioneered a unique field of applications in file storage, and also succeed in practically standardizing memory around the world.
Then we introduced the 4MB NAND flash memory in 1991.
