The Ultra High Speed Elevator in TAIPEI 101

TAIPEI 101
TAIPEI 101

We installed two elevators travelling at 1010 meters per minute (60.6 km/hr) to the 508-meter-high Taipei 101 in Taipei in 2004.

This elevator appears in the Guinness Book of World Records as the fastest elevator in the world.
We installed two significant technologies into the elevator to provide riding comfort to passengers.
One is the anti-vibration device called Active Mass Damper.
Once the sensor attached to the car detects vibration, the counterweight will move to the opposite direction using linear motors and ease the vibration.
The other is the atmospheric control system.
This is a system used to stabilize atmospheric pressure inside the car by controlling the airflow into and out of the car, even if a rapid change in air pressure occurs.
