Our History
Toshiba Science Museum opened in 1961 as a part of the Central Research Laboratory, commemorating Toshiba's 85th anniversary. It has been popular as a site for local cultural events as well as a perfect facility to learn about science technologies.

2006 | June | The Founders' Room is opened. A replica of Man-nen Dokei is put on display. | |
2005 | September | Toshiba's First of their Kind magazine is published. | |
1993 | April | The first Wakuwaku Class of Experiments is held. | |
November | Receives the Kawasaki City Cultural Award. | ||
September | First word processing and computer class. | ||
1992 | June | The first Easy Course in Advanced Technology is held. | |
1989 | May | Selected by MITI into the group of 50 main domestic industries. An exhibition marking the 30th anniversary is held. |

August | The first crafts class for boys and girls is held. | ||
June | "Fostering a close relationship between man and science" is adopted as the museum's slogan. On the 15th anniversary a bamboo tree is planted honoring Thomas Edison. |

1970 | Various guests from abroad pay a visit. | ||
