“Rooms of the Founders” introduces Toshiba's foundations through exhibits related to the work of the founders. “Firsts of Their Kinds” features inventions created by Toshiba which were “firsts in the world” or “firsts in Japan” and innovations in society.
A guide system is available in the History Zone. Explanations about the exhibit can be enjoyed via text, audio or a video using a special tablet. Please make use of the system during your visit.

Toshiba was founded by Hisashige Tanaka and Ichisuke Fujioka, both of whom became a pillar of Japan's modern scientific technological history. In this booth, you can see Mannen Jimeishou, Masterpiece of Wadokei, invented by Hisashige Tanaka who was called "Karakuri (Mechanical) Giemon" and articles about Ichisuke Fujioka, who was described as the Japanese Edison.
